Grant joined Grant Thornton as a Partner in 2004 where he leads a team based in Manchester which has successfully negotiated settlements for numerous clients facing complex HM Revenue & Customs Issues. Grant has over 30 years experience in the tax investigation field having served 20 years with HM Revenue and Customs before joining the accountancy profession in 1996.
Grant has expertise in Residence/Domicile and tax schemes defence strategies and is skilled at making voluntary disclosures to HM Revenue and Customs where matters have been identified at Clients undergoing Forensic investigations or pre/post transaction Due Diligence.
Grant has represented clients at the General and Special Commissioners as well as providing expert evidence in the Criminal Courts. Grant regularly lecturers on investigation and employment tax issues and is a member of the ICAEW Tax Investigations technical committee and the HM Revenue & Customs Working Together initiative.
