The Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards in January is the first big business and networking event of the year. So what is it all about and who are this year’s contenders?
What is it?
The Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards celebrate the achievements of the UK’s smaller quoted companies, entrepreneurs and intermediaries. Winners are judged by an expert panel according to different criteria for each award.
When and where is it held?
This year, the event will be held on 26 January 2011 at the Natural History Museum in London.
Who attends?
High-achieving listed companies quoted on the FTSE 350 and below through to AIM and PLUS; entrepreneurs, CEOs, advisers and investors; the business press.
Award categories:
There are 11 awards up for grabs from best CEO, Chairman, FD and Entrepreneur to Deal of the Year. The full shortlist is over on The Boardroom blog.
New for 2011…
…is the Emerging Markets CEO of the Year, which rewards the CEO (or entrepreneur) who has created the most value for shareholders from the world’s emerging markets, or most astutely positioned his or her business for long-term growth derived from the globe’s developing economies.
Also new is the AIM to MAIN category, which recognises AIM companies that have progressed to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange.
