May 1 marked the start of a momentous occasion for Liverpool’s business community as it became the only UK city with a dedicated pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo.
Grant Thornton is Liverpool’s largest accountancy firm and we are looking forward to playing our part in helping to showcase Liverpool as an international city.
We will be exhibiting from May to October, will we be linking heavily with our Shanghai office to host a number of exclusive VIP events, where we will be demonstrating to some of China’s leading companies the benefits of investing in one of the UK’s fastest growing business communities.
The Liverpool Pavilion is located in the Urban Best Practice area next to cities such as Cairo and Venice, and with over 1 million people expected to visit during its six-month presence, it’s an ideal opportunity for Grant Thornton and the rest of the sponsors to show what Liverpool has achieved to a global audience.
Our involvement will also help to forge closer working links with our local colleagues in Shanghai, who are showing their commitment by providing a rota of 12 people for the entire six-months to help staff the Liverpool Pavilion – an example of global partnership already in action.
